It is fair to say that Additive manufacturing is growing at a phenomenal rate, both in technology and industry applications. Wherever you look today additive manufacturing is at the forefront of industry developments.

We understand that there is a need for this technology in tooling applications. Our customers tooling challenges mean that in previous years there have been limits to what is possible and now these possibilities are in our hands. However it does not make sense to choose AM for everything we should only use this technology when there is an economical advantage to be made. So if you wish to know what these advantages are why not contact the Experts @Uddeholm for AM in tooling.

At Uddeholm we are developing materials suitable for the tooling needs of our customers. To do this we invest in research of global markets, interacting with our customers to understand their needs. Challenges such as wear, corrosion and distortion in tooling due to the design or demands from the working material.

We understand that our customers simply do not have the investment themselves to purchase machinery, software and post processing equipment. Today we have that investment and capabilities to supply much more than just powder. Today we offer our customers the opportunity of a journey to understanding what AM can do for their tooling needs.

We now offer our customers a full service package from design and mouldflow simulation of conformal cooling and topology, to printing, heat treating, machining and coatings, every customer journey is unique and built on individual requirements. Using additive technology we can improve cycle times per part, reduce cooling time of tooling inserts 30-50% by reducing mass of parts using less material and saving unnecessary build costs. Integrating sensors and using the technology to control better venting within a tool can also be achieved.
